News, News, News

Well, where did April go?

We are all laying eggs now - so the humans get between 2 and 4 eggs per day. We are allowed out most days now - the bearded one put a load of green fencing around the garden - keeps us off the lady human's vegetable plots, and stops us getting into trouble in Norman Bate's garden at the back. We are only allowed out when there is a human about - bit too dangerous for us to be wandering about otherwise.

We have moved to our summer quarters too - we are now on the lawn - we have moved off the patio. Our house is still on flag stones, but the run is on grass. Its in a nice spot that catches the sun, and we can go around the back to be in the shade.

Nosey T Cat has finally stopped chasing us. She now sits in the garden with us, and sits on top of the coop when the bearded one is sorting out our food and stuff.

That's all for now - we will be back with more exciting chicken news soon.

The eggs are coming thick and fast now. Three of us are laying - Liza, Boba Fett and one of the Rangers (but we aren't sure which one yet). We get a small light coloured egg from Liza, a big dark brown egg from BF, and a big "beige" egg from either Barbara or Ella...

We have been out and about in the garden a few times this weekend. The big human has put up some fencing to keep us off the nice ladies vegetable plots.....there are some growing in a plastic house thingy near to our coop, they look really tasty, but we can't get near them...but not for the lack of trying.

The humans are trying to teach us to come in and out through the main coop door - BF, Liza and Ella seem to have mastered it, Barbara runs about in the outside run crying like a baby...

I have heard the big human saying something about building a ramp, and putting a feeding door into the outside run.

A sunny day and a cleaning out of the coop gave us a nice long run out in the garden, supervised by Nosey T Cat of course. For more pictures and updates see our website at: http://thewilemans.homeserver.com/chucks/

Ain't Life Brilliant

Ain't life brilliant.

We have really settled in here. The weather has been getting nicer, and the big human lets us out to wander around the garden. He does stay with us, because Nosey TCat keeps stalking us, and running at us, making us jump about. Bobba Fet chased her off yesterday, and Liza gave her a bit of a peck yesterday, but she appears to be a bit resistant to change, and she possibly feels her position as top pet has been downgraded a bit - but she is allowed in the humans' coop, and gets to roost with them for the evening. The nice lady human has her leg in plaster at the moment, so the old human and the sasquatchy one cleaned us out today. The food has been brilliant - there has been fresh greens most days, and meal worms - being a chicken does't get much more exciting than this!

Exciting weekend......

Well, what an exciting weekend. The humans let us run around the back yard whilst they cleaned out our house. It was great fun, but there was this stuff that the humans call snow all over the place, made our feet really cold. House is nice and clean and tidy now. Nosey T Cat paid a visit too, she is really cool.

Still no eggs from any of the girls yet, but we are all friends now, and the humans keep giving us great food - especially the parsley and the meal worms....

What a day.....

The humans have been busy today...the old human with the beard put the new extension to the run at the front of the house. Bobba Fet tried to escape, but could reach the roof, and the human caught her. Then there was banging and noise, and the extension now has a covering. We had our coop and run cleaned out today. The nice lady human did it. New floor covering and new bedding - nice. The extension was left open for us to come and go. Its great, but there is no proper roof, and the rain gets in.....but it gives us some much more room....nice.....

Cold today. There was stuff called snow?

When it got dark, the lanky human came and closed the door, stopped that draught.....

Then the older human came, with the lanky one. They put some plastic stuff around the wire and gave us some more bedding. That funny cat was helping them too.

We heard talk of an extension already.....
